Shanahan Engineering was awarded the Main Construction Management Contract for the 400MW Huntstown Phase II Power Project. Shanahan was responsible for the overall project coordination including civil, mechanical, electrical, QA/QC, planning, safety and commissioning of the plant along with the installation of the HRSG, Power Train, Balance of Plant, Electrical works and Instrumentation & Control.
For the HRSG Mechanical Erection section of the project, we provided a team of Managers, Technical Advisors, Technicians and Craft Labour to execute the construction of the HRSG from construction and hydro-test through to commissioning of the HRSG.
During the Centreline Installation, Shanahan executed the following:-
• Melco Generator build-out
• MHI M701 gas turbine build out
• HP, IP & LP steam turbine on site assembly
• Air Inlet Filter House construction
• Construction and hydro-test of lube oil, seal oil, jacking oil and control oil systems
• On site assembly of main steam valves
We were also responsible for the erection of all Balance of Plant systems and pipe-work including:-
• Installation of all Balance of Plant pumps and equipment
• Installation of CCCW systems including erection of CCCW fans and structure
• Installation of waste water treatment system
• Installation of auxiliary boiler
• Installation of sampling system
• 34 weld procedures were also qualified on site during this erection contract
