This year, one of our welders suffered a heart attack on site while preparing for his shift. Thanks to the timely response by Neil Presland, the Alstom safety officer on nights on the Langage Power Project, Eugeniusz Szczepankiewicz was resuscitated and made a full recovery. He has now returned to his home in Poland to be with his family. “This is a great example of when an emergency plan works. The experience of Neil, and his first aid training played its part when the emergency arose on site. We would like to extend our thanks to Neil and our client, Alstom for their efforts on this project, in providing a safe environment for our workers” said James Greaney, Chief Operations Officer, Shanahan Engineering during his recent visit to site to present the award.
