Shanahan Engineering was awarded a lumpsum Construction Management Services contract for the installation and commissioning of the GE Frame 9H Gas Turbine.  This is the first ever “H” Technology Gas Turbine to be installed and commissioned, and is also the largest gas turbine unit and most efficient combined cycle power plant in the world.  Shanahan Engineering’s contractual responsibilities included the planning, supervision and management of the entire power plant construction project, under the direction of General Electric from design through to first fire, including the management of pre-construction activities such as the preparation of Sub-Contract Work Packages, Integrated Work Schedule, Quality Planning and Constructability Reviews of the plant engineering work prepared by the Architect Engineer.
