HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT

Shanahan Engineering Ltd. is committed to the prevention of illness and injury to its personnel, and to the affected public, by the provision and maintenance of healthy and safe conditions in our offices and on our work sites, and by adhering to provisions and requirements of all relevant legislation including the requirements of Article 7 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005 (Ireland) and of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (UK). Shanahan Engineering Ltd. undertakes a wide range of activities in the Power Generation and Petrochemical Field Engineering Services Industries. The nature of the company’s activities includes the management and supervision of construction and maintenance work; we place particular emphasis on quality, reliability and safety and in doing so, are proactive in adhering to the requirements of the Construction, (Design and Management) Regulations 1994.

We ensure that all employees are aware of this policy and their individual responsibilities. Each location of operation is required to adhere to this policy and to meet key objectives of our Corporate Health and Safety Policy, which are as follows:

  • Ensure that site operations meet legal, client and stringent company requirements
  • Ensure the adoption of methods and practices, and provision, use and maintenance of plant and equipment, which ensure a safe working environment through each phase of the construction, installation and maintenance works
  • Ensure safe use, handling, storage and transport of articles and substances
  • Promote high standards of health and safety awareness through employee participation and management commitment by providing all relevant information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary
  • Ensure the provision and maintenance of a safe working environment with adequate facilities and arrangements for welfare
  • Strive towards an end goal of eliminating unsafe or unhealthy practices at all work locations
  • Carry out regular safety audits
  • Ensure that working methods and processes minimize dangers to the surrounding community
  • Provide immediate and effective response in case of accident and emergency
  • Regularly review procedures in line with latest health and safety developments, work practices and government legislation as part of an ongoing process of developing the safest possible working environment
  • Communicate and promote the policy to employees in all locations
